Infinite asynchronous loop
Seven 10 inch monitors in steel case, measuring 8 x 75 inches
2007

A seven-channel video depicting a snowstorm obscuring New York City. The footage was cut into seven channels, one monitor for each hour of the storm, so the entire duration of the storm is visible simultaneously. Sublime landscape produced from the optical-mechanical failure of a camera. The atmosphere is so dense that the autofocus is pulsing rapidly as the camera repeatedly reaches the optical limit of translating what it sees. The piece is edited to include only these moments of pulsation, and what remains is a landscape made from misinterpretation, blindness.
